My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The rooms were clean and bright, with a lovely big four-poster bed and a view overlooking the pub gardens and Lake Windermere. However, the decor seemed a bit tired, and attention to dusting could have been better. The advertised lake view was about 2 miles away, and the glimpses of the lake were not as prominent as expected.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were beautiful but needed a bit more attention to cleanliness, especially with some dust on top of the wardrobe. The view was lovely, though.
Service
9.0
The service at the hotel was exceptional, with lovely, friendly, and welcoming staff.
Location
7.0
The hotel is tucked away off the beaten track with a sunny aspect and amazing views. It's further out than expected, but there are excellent walks from the doorstep. The High Street and Patterdale are within walking distance.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was a bit disappointing. The breakfast options were somewhat limited, and additional charges for a hot breakfast were unexpected. However, the continental breakfast was decent.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities at the hotel were good, but some areas could use improvement, particularly in the dining setup.

My two-night stay at the Mortal Man was overall quite good. The rooms were spacious and quaint with great views and plenty of extra touches. The staff, especially Gary, Chloe, and Cathy, made us feel right at home. Although we stayed for four days despite indicating otherwise, it was a pleasant experience.
